GENETICS
I've gene tested all my cows and calves for the last couple years, using both Bovigen and Igenity.
Below are the results of my 5 current cows and
i have pulled tail hairs and have sent them in this
December 1st, 2011 for Xtra, Easter and Yukon.

There are 4 genes that can be tested for tenderness,  Gene 2 & 3 are the same from both Genetic
Test Companies, but each company's 1st tenderness Gene is different and exclusive to that
company.
I had Precious and Navarra tested when the tests first came out from Bovigen
(Gene Star), these
tests were limited only to number of genes for Tenderness and Marbling.
Monique, Richele, Pecan and were all tested more recently and from Igenity.

Bov - Bovigen  (Bovigen genes are 0-(none), 1, or 2-(best).
Ig - Igenity  (Igenity scores are based 1-10, 10 being best).
T - Tenderness:  genes are 0-(none), 1, or 2 (best).
M- Marbling:  genes are 0-(none), 1, or 2 (best)
