DESOLATION SOUND July 8th, 2008
Desolation Sound Marine Park, is made up of many, many islands and inlets, and you can only get there by boat.  We found most had steep cliffs, many very rugged, heavily treed, rocky beaches (if you could call them beaches) and the rocks were litterly covered in oyster shells, and no sand beaches.  Very few had hiking trails, and if they did it was 1.
The views were beautiful, but growing up in Oregon I think we are spoiled, we didn't really see anything more magnificent than Oregon's own high country lakes & mountains that we had ridden in for years.
Entrance to Malaspina Inlet, the begining of Marine Park.
Grace Harbor, the most popular anchorage in the inlet, we stayed 2 days, the water was cool, but warm enough for swimming.
There were Dragonflies everywhere, and though you can't tell, those black wing marks were really purple.
