JB RANCH
    IRIS
Roseburg, Oregon  97471

WELCOME, we bought our house and land last summer
(August 2010).  There was not a single flower on the entire
property, lots of poison oak, lots of room (34 acres), but no
flowers.

So before we went sailing, I bought a half a dozen iris from
Cooleys and stuck them in the ground.  I also got several
rhizomes from my Aunt who was cleaning up her Iris beds.
These Iris she gave me are from the single Easter Time
Rhizome (from Schreiners) I gave her over 20 years ago.

The photos on this page are My First Iris' (and my Mothers
Iris), at the top is my CRANAPPLE Iris just starting to open.
but, I won't have as many as I had hoped, My husband noticed
the daffodiles (planted among my iris) had dried up and
thought all the flowers were done blooming and mowed over
them.  This was Mid April, but it does look like a few survived.

I will end up with several of my Moms Iris this year 2011 to
plant, hers needs to be thinned.  If anyone recognizes the name
of any of these I would love to here from you.  My guess is my
mother got them from Cooleys, Schreiners or ordered them
from the Springhill catalog.

Plus, I've been drooling over all the Iris' available over the
Internet and have ordered a dozen or so from Bluehaven Iris,
most of the ones I ordered are Historic Iris.

Those of you who know me, know I have had horses for most
of my life (at least 40 years) and cows the last 11.  So I've been
picking out 3 types of Iris, those with Horse names (most are
race horses), names of my cows  and of course those that are
so gorgeous I can't resist.
